Linwood Blizzard is a native of Williamsburg, Virginia with an ancestral heritage dating back to the 1700s in Surry County, Virginia. He is a husband and a father and serves as the 16th Senior Pastor of the Macedonia Baptist Church in Heathsville, Virginia, the Calculus teacher on the faculty of Northumberland High School in Heathsville, Virginia, and as an Adjunct Professor of Theology at the Samuel DeWitt Proctor School of Theology at Virginia Union University in Richmond, Virginia.
Linwood has served and continues to serve the 99th District extensively with my engagement in community-based organizations that foster private-public partnerships in building community. He has worked across the 99th District to provide and uplift the voice of those in the community who are voiceless, while guiding the voiceless to have a voice through numerous organization:
He values family and community. Family is inclusive of those with whom you live and/or are related, but also those in your extended space. It is important we see community beyond our own interest, but in listening and working towards addressing the needs of our neighbors.
I spent several years working in the pharmaceutical industry in Petersburg, Virginia as a Process Engineer managing multi-million dollar processes and site expansion projects in creating active pharmaceutical ingredients in the treatment of AIDS, ADHD, hypertension, blood clots, and heroin addiction. While working in this industry, I was a licensed Professional Engineer in the Commonwealth of Virginia and served on the Board of Directors for the Center for Biosystems and Engineering at Virginia State University.
He encourages everyone to ask questions not only to get to know me, but to hear how and why I am willing to work for and with you!
