Heathsville, Virginia — HD-99 Democratic Nominee Rev. Linwood Blizzard reported more than $70,000 raised between July 1st and August 31st, marking the campaign’s strongest fundraising quarter to date.
The campaign has now raised more than $115,000 since Rev. Blizzard announced his candidacy for the House of Delegates in February, indicating serious momentum as early voting begins on September 17th.
In July and August, the Blizzard campaign received contributions from 313 individuals, including supporters from all six counties in the 99th House district. This enthusiasm was not matched by entrenched incumbent Margaret Ransone, who raised just $22,842.
“We are excited by the energy we’re seeing across the 99th district, and thankful for those who continue to support this campaign,” said Rev. Blizzard. “We must remember that this election is about bringing real representation back to our region, and giving working people a voice in state government.”
In addition to the campaign’s strong fundraising numbers, Rev. Blizzard received endorsements from several influential organizations. The Virginia AFL-CIO, Virginia Education Association, Virginia National Organization for Women, Virginia Sierra Club, and the Virginia Legislative Black Caucus all formally announced their support for the campaign in recent weeks.
