Richmond, VA – The Virginia AFL-CIO COPE Committee and the Delegates of the Twenty-Fifth Biennial Conference and 2021 Convention have endorsed Rev. Linwood Blizzard, along with 71 other House of Delegates candidates.
Virginia AFL-CIO President Doris Crouse-Mays said: “If not before this year, Virginia most certainly has seen very clearly the importance of working people during this pandemic. Our frontline workers – our heroes – have risked their lives day in and day out to ensure that every community across the Commonwealth has had some semblance of normalcy within our livelihoods during the COVID-19 fight. While workers have gone above and beyond to fight for everyone, it is time that someone fights for them. That is why we are so proud to endorse our House of Delegates candidates for the 2021 election cycle. There is so much at stake this year for union members and all workers, and it is our mission to ensure that our pro-labor candidates will win and be the resounding bullhorn for the voices of the labor community.”
“I’m honored to earn the support of one of the largest and most influential labor organizations in the country,” said Rev. Linwood Blizzard. “Protecting and advancing workers rights is critical to move our Commonwealth forward, and I’m excited to work with the Virginia AFL-CIO to get it done.”
