July 28th, 2021 — Today, the Sierra Club Virginia Chapter announced their endorsement of Rev. Linwood Blizzard for the 99th district House of Delegates seat.
Connor Kish, Legislative and Political Director for the Sierra Club Virginia Chapter said: “We are endorsing Rev. Blizzard in the 99th House of Delegates district because after speaking with Rev. Blizzard, our grassroots leadership was impressed by his deep knowledge of local communities and the issues facing the district. We are confident that Rev. Blizzard will be a representative that supports a clean energy future and prioritizes access to democracy for all.”
This endorsement comes after Rev. Blizzard’s opponent, Del. Margaret Ransone, received an F rating on the Sierra Club’s annual General Assembly Report Card.
“I’m honored to earn the Sierra Club’s endorsement,” stated Rev. Blizzard. “The contrast on environmental issues between my opponent and I could not be clearer. I always say that in Coastal Virginia, protecting the environment means protecting jobs, and I truly believe that.”
